David Beckham Tattoos: The Footballer With Tattoos

David Beckham, the English footballer (or soccer player as we might say in the U.S.), has be converted into nearly as well-known for his tattoos as for his brilliant sports career. Beckham is also one of persons superstar athletes who has be converted into an all-round celebrity. In March,  2008, Beckham appeared on 60 Summary , where he showed and discussed many of his tattoos. As of this writing, he has fifteen tattoos on his body. He clarifies that this is a way for him to express his feelings. While someone not familiar with the allure of tattoo art might find this to be a weird sentiment, many tattooed people feel the same way about their body art.

On his back, Beckham has a large angel, which he says is a guardian angel, whose wings rest near his shoulder blades. This was done by one of England’s most renowned tattoo artists, Louis Molloy at his studio, Middleton Tattoo Studio. Molloy has also done tattoos for David’s wife Victoria (ex- Spice Girl, better known as Posh). 

Some of Beckham’s tattoos are on paper in foreign languages, such as Latin and Hindi. Others, such as the Roman numeral Vll (7) was of his numbers playing for a soccer team. Below this number is the Latin phrase, “Perfectio In Spiritu,” which means “spiritual perfection.” His wife’s name, Victoria, appears in Hindi –below this is another Latin saying, ““Ut Amem Et Foveam,” which means, “so that I like and revere .” He has another angel on his right shoulder and bicep.

David Beckham is a excellent broadcast spokesperson for the art of tattooing, despite some of the controversy surrounding him. Aside from facing criticism for his many tattoos, he has been accused of extramarital affairs and has had disagreements relating product endorsements, such as running shoes made from kangaroo leather. But , such issues are rather ordinary for celebrities today, especially athletes and Beckham’s image is still mainly positive and glamorous. David Beckham tattoos only add to his quaint personality.
